Scope of work
Brief
Cinnamon Life is Sri Lanka's most ambitious integrated lifestyle destination — a single address encompassing a five-star hotel, residences, dining, entertainment, and retail. The brief arriving at Karak's door carried the weight of that ambition: develop the branding for a flagship property that needed to feel world-class on arrival, coherent across a complex multi-venue estate, and distinctive enough to hold its own on the global hospitality stage.
Strategy
A property of this scale lives or dies by its ability to feel like a unified world rather than a collection of amenities. The strategic challenge was building a brand architecture that could give Cinnamon Life a compelling master identity while allowing the individual venues, each with its own personality, audience, and atmosphere, room to breathe. The approach centred on creating a visual and tonal language rooted in warmth and sophistication: qualities that felt true to Sri Lanka's character while meeting the expectations of an international guest.
Creative
With a scope spanning the full property ecosystem, Karak developed branding that worked at every level of the experience, from the hotel itself down to individual F&B and lifestyle venues across the estate. Each outlet received its own distinct identity, designed to feel at home within the wider Cinnamon Life world without being subsumed by it. The creative output was comprehensive: identity systems, brand guidelines, and the full suite of downstream deliverables required to launch a property of this calibre.
The result impressed where it mattered most. General Manager Mikael Svensson described the work as showcasing a level of agency ingenuity and creativity he felt would be perfect for the upcoming flagship.
Results
A hospitality brand built for the long term. Coherent enough to present a unified face to the world, flexible enough to give every venue within it its own identity and energy. Cinnamon Life launched with the creative confidence to match the scale of its ambition.
